Why You Shouldn’t Wait When You Find the Right Outlet Mattress
If you’ve shopped at the Mattress Outlet before, you probably already know one of our biggest rules:
If you find the right mattress, don’t assume it will still be here next week.
We’re not saying that to pressure you into buying something.
It’s simply how an outlet works.
Our inventory is constantly changing, and unlike a traditional mattress store, when an Outlet mattress sells, we don’t order another one to replace it.
Sometimes we get several.
Sometimes we get two.
And sometimes there is literally one.
Once it’s gone, we can never guarantee we’ll get that mattress again.
We Have an Idea of What’s Coming—But It’s Always Changing
When new inventory is coming into the Outlet, we generally have an idea of the brand, make and model we're receiving.
But that inventory is always changing.
We might get a shipment of closeout mattresses from a major manufacturer. We might receive discontinued models. One of our other stores might send over a floor model. We may get an overstock opportunity, a few one-of-a-kind mattresses or something completely unexpected.
There may even be a specific brand you've been hoping to find at the Outlet that we haven't had in months.
Then one day, one or two show up.
That's the treasure hunt.
Even the Same Brand and Feel Can Be Completely Different
This is something people don't always realize about mattresses.
Let's say you're looking for a Sealy Firm and you find one at the Outlet that you absolutely love.
You might think, I'll wait. They'll probably get another Sealy Firm.
Maybe.
But another Sealy Firm doesn't necessarily mean another one of that mattress.
The next one could be a traditional innerspring mattress. It could be a hybrid. It could be an all-foam mattress. It could have a completely different support system, different materials and a totally different feel when you lie on it.
That's why we can never guarantee that we'll get another mattress just like the one you're considering.
Even when the brand name and the word “Firm” on the tag look familiar, the mattress underneath you can be completely different.
We Don't Compromise on Brands
Outlet pricing doesn't mean we think you should have to settle for a mattress from a brand you've never heard of.
We carry some of the biggest and best names in the mattress industry, and that's something we don't compromise on.
What changes is how those mattresses end up at the Outlet.
It might be a model that's being discontinued.
It could be an overstock.
It could be a floor model coming from one of our other stores.
It could have a minor cosmetic scuff or bump.
Or we may have had an opportunity to purchase a particular group of mattresses at a great value and pass that savings along.
But when those mattresses sell, we don't simply place an order to restock them.
The next group of mattresses coming through the doors may be completely different.
“I’ll Think About It and Come Back Next Weekend.”
You absolutely can.
We never want someone to buy a mattress they don't feel good about.
But there's one thing we want you to understand before you leave:
The mattress you tried today may not be here when you come back.
At a traditional mattress store, if the mattress you tried sells off the floor, there may be another one in the warehouse or another one that can be ordered.
The Outlet doesn't work that way.
If it's a closeout, discontinued mattress, floor model, overstock or one-of-a-kind, there may not be another one available.
And even if we get that brand again, we can't promise it will be the same model, construction or feel.
When the Mattress, the Size AND the Price Are Right
Finding a mattress is personal.
You want the right comfort. The right support. The right size. And, of course, the right price.
At the Outlet, there's another piece to the puzzle:
It has to be here.
When all of those things come together, you've probably found a pretty great deal.
That's especially true when you find a mattress from a major brand you already know and trust at an Outlet price.
If you love it, it fits your needs and the price works for you, that's when waiting can sometimes work against you.
But Don't Buy the Wrong Mattress Just Because It's a Deal
This part is important.
A huge discount doesn't make the wrong mattress the right mattress.
You still have to sleep on it.
That's why we want you to come in and actually try the beds. Lie down. Compare them. Ask questions.
We're happy to help you look through what's available and figure out what makes sense.
Sometimes we'll have exactly what you're looking for.
Sometimes we'll have something you hadn't considered that's even better.
And sometimes we may not have the right mattress for you that day.
That's okay, too.
The Outlet is about finding a great mattress at a great value—not buying something simply because it's inexpensive.
That's What Makes the Outlet Different
Today's inventory could look completely different a few weeks from now.
We don't have a warehouse full of identical mattresses waiting to replace what's on the floor. When something sells, something different takes its place.
So stop in. Take a look around. Try a few mattresses.
And if you happen to find the right brand, the right feel, the right size and a really great price?
You may not want to wait too long.
Because at the Mattress Outlet, when it's gone, we can't promise it's ever coming back.
